Warwickshire Parent Carer Forum acts as a voice for parent carers and families who have children or young people with Special Educational Needs or disabilities (SEND).

These families all have children who use services in Warwickshire.

'Services' means things like schools (including mainstream schools) social care and therapies like Occupational or physiotherapy. All together they are usually referred to as Education, Health and Social Care services.

These services are now all supposed to be explained on a county council website called the SEND Local Offer.  https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/send

The forum exists because the Children and Families Act from 2014 caused changes to services and provision for children and young people with SEND aged from 0 - 25 (often known as the SEND REFORMS).

This will link you to a document which explains how the changes are supposed to be put into practice. send-code-of-practice-0-to-25

The forum meets with decision makes and professionals to try and achieve what the reforms intended, that services would be improved if service users were involved in their development.

It's a challenge because services are under so much pressure but it is worthwhile and getting personally involved can make a difference for everyone.
